Description

Session Goal

The primary goal of this session was to modularize the accounting document triage system from a monolithic repository into a more flexible, modular structure.

Key Activities

  • Repo Structuring: Developed a strategy for splitting the document triage subsystem from the larger Accounting monorepo into a modular repository.
  • Automation Scripts: Created and modified Bash scripts to set up directory structures, initialize Git repositories, and migrate necessary files and configurations.
  • Migration Commands: Provided a comprehensive command set for migrating the triage engine, including directory creation and configuration adjustments.
  • Script Modifications: Made necessary changes to existing scripts to ensure compatibility with the new repo layout, introducing ENGINE_ROOT and DATA_ROOT variables.
  • Post-Migration Fixes: Addressed inconsistencies in the triage scripts post-migration, ensuring correct invocation of indexer and mover scripts.

Achievements

  • Successfully outlined and partially implemented the modularization strategy for the document triage system.
  • Enhanced the operational efficiency of the triage repository with improved Makefile and automation scripts.

Pending Tasks

  • Complete the migration of all necessary components and configurations to the new modular repository.
  • Further test and validate the new repo structure and scripts for any remaining inconsistencies.
  • Finalize the operational runbook to ensure smooth transitions and operations in the new setup.
