Description
Session Goal
Consolidate the project from prototype mode into a minimal commercial-operational line, while also diagnosing backend failures in the order flow and clarifying the deployment architecture needed for a persistent Next.js + Postgres stack.
Key Activities
- Reframed the product as a release-locked commercial operation rather than a feature-expansion prototype.
- Reviewed the need to freeze features after PR1-PR5 merge and validate the end-to-end flow before further development.
- Identified the operational fronts required for launch readiness: intake/sales, digital marketing, production, and release management.
- Analyzed a masked
create_order_failedresponse and concluded the issue is likely in backend logic, Prisma, or database configuration, not just request payload validation. - Outlined a debugging approach for Next.js API routes: expose the real error in development, add temporary response detail, and inspect schema/provider mismatch, missing migrations, stale Prisma client generation, and repository interface drift.
- Clarified that Vercel can run backend functions in
app/[[api]], but persistence depends on a correctly configured external Postgres + Prisma setup with migrations and environment variables. - Proposed a deployment path for validating the order workflow end to end, including database setup, schema migration, and webhook/payment flow checks.
- Added a business-side template catalog strategy: prioritize high-ROI niche landing pages, separate real demos from coming-soon templates, and adapt the data model/UI accordingly.
Achievements
- Established a clearer release-readiness mindset: stop expanding scope and focus on operational validation.
- Defined a concrete debugging checklist for the order creation failure.
- Confirmed the serverless architecture constraints and the need for persistent Postgres-backed deployment.
- Produced a direction for the template catalog around niche selection, conversion, and pricing.
Pending Tasks
- Validate the full checkout/payment/reconciliation flow in staging.
- Implement or verify logging that surfaces the real backend error for
createOrder. - Check Prisma schema, migrations, generated client, and repository contract alignment.
- Prepare SOPs for sales, production, QA, and release management.
- Define the first prioritized set of landing page templates and their status in the catalog.
