Description
Session Goal: The session aimed to address and resolve various issues related to pushing a local Git repository to GitHub, including authentication problems and configuration errors.
Key Activities:
- Pushed a local repository to GitHub by setting up the necessary remote URL and executing the push command.
- Resolved GitHub authentication issues by using personal access tokens instead of passwords.
- Set up SSH authentication for GitHub, including generating and adding SSH keys to the GitHub account.
- Generated a GitHub personal access token and updated the remote URL for secure repository access.
- Addressed Git HTTP buffer size errors by increasing the
http.postBuffervalue in the Git configuration. - Troubleshot TLS issues during Git push operations, including network checks and alternative methods.
- Resolved Git push errors by verifying repository size, using SSH, and performing shallow pushes.
- Changed the Git remote URL from SSH to HTTPS and verified the configuration.
- Reverted Git SSL backend configuration to default settings.
Achievements: Successfully resolved multiple authentication and configuration issues, enabling smooth pushing of local repositories to GitHub.
