Description

Session Goal

The session aimed to resolve Dockerized PostgreSQL connection issues and optimize data handling.

Key Activities

  • Port Conflict Resolution: Explored solutions for port conflicts when running Dockerized Postgres, including changing host ports and stopping conflicting services.
  • Database Connection: Established connections to PostgreSQL using pggmail, with instructions for psql commands and Python operations.
  • SSL Mode Fixes: Addressed SSL mode errors in Docker Postgres connections using psycopg2 and performed sanity checks.
  • JSON Handling Improvements: Enhanced JSON loader for PostgreSQL with SSL support, faster NUL handling, and configurable sanitization.
  • NUL Character Handling: Implemented solutions for handling escaped NULs in JSONB data during PostgreSQL loading.

Achievements

  • Successfully resolved Docker Postgres port conflicts and SSL mode issues.
  • Improved JSON data handling and performance in PostgreSQL loaders.

Pending Tasks

  • Further testing and validation of the implemented solutions in a production environment to ensure stability and performance.
