Description
Session Goal
Define, validate, and close the technical design for Block 3 of the ingestion/publication pipeline: exporting a frontend bundle from the best available snapshots in the corpus, while avoiding fragile dependencies and ensuring the frontend consumes prepared, optimized data artifacts.
Key Activities
- Reviewed the Block 3 export specification and ratified the need for a separate artifact rather than coupling the frontend directly to raw pipeline outputs.
- Clarified the provenance and confidence-state requirements for exported data so downstream consumers can distinguish trusted snapshots from intermediate or uncertain material.
- Defined the exporter behavior, including expected inputs, output bundle structure, and operational constraints for the frontend bundle export script.
- Diagnosed Python/script execution issues:
- fixed filename vs import-name mismatch causing import errors,
- corrected misuse of the
--run-idargument so it is treated strictly as an identifier, not a path, - clarified the proper relationship between
run_rootandrun_idto avoid path confusion.
- Added operational guidance for verifying the script and, separately, provided Linux disk cleanup commands to support environment maintenance during execution.
- Performed a closure review for Block 3, confirming the block meets operational conditions and only minimal technical debt remains.
- Sketched sprint planning for a future Next.js application effort, with QA and deployment-oriented objectives.
Achievements
- Block 3 was formally closed as a coherent export stage in the pipeline.
- The design now emphasizes a clean boundary between ingestion/publication and frontend consumption via a dedicated bundle artifact.
- Key execution bugs were resolved or precisely documented, reducing ambiguity for future runs.
- The remaining debt was characterized as minimal and manageable, rather than blocking.
Pending Tasks
- Implement or verify the final exporter script in the repository using the corrected module/file naming and argument conventions.
- Confirm the export artifacts are produced consistently from valid runs and that validation reports reflect the intended confidence/provenance model.
- Revisit the minimal technical debt noted in the closure review during the next maintenance pass.
- If the Next.js sprint plan is active, translate it into concrete sprint tickets and QA/deployment checkpoints.
