Session Goal
Explore a higher-level architecture for turning the existing Media Monitor / news automation work into a reusable, modular, and potentially productizable system rather than a collection of scripts.
Key Activities
- Reframed the work from cataloging scripts to identifying composable systems and structural seams that can support reuse.
- Defined an artifact ladder approach, where runtime outputs, contract artifacts, read models, decision surfaces, and public/product surfaces are treated as distinct layers.
- Mapped modular news automation into horizontal capabilities such as buses, indexes, snapshots, run records, and editorial handoff.
- Proposed packaging the architecture as a reusable kit and as an autonomous news portal that could evolve from static intelligence to draft publishing.
- Recast the Media Monitor repository as a vertical application and a broader testbed for explicit seams, stable contracts, and reusable artifacts across the MAL stack.
- Introduced a portfolio campus model separating responsibility lanes from technical roles, and suggested adding
architecture_roleandartifact_levelfields to the project registry.
Achievements
- Clarified the architectural direction: the core value is not the scripts themselves, but the artifact boundaries and contracts that make the system reusable.
- Established a conceptual framework for productization of media automation through modular components and phased vertical applications.
- Identified a governance model for organizing repos, work lanes, and artifacts without forcing a one-project-one-repo structure.
