Description
Session Goal
Reconstruct the project history and onboarding state for the spatial data / FCV research effort by turning scattered memos, recovery-plan material, and email-thread evidence into a structured dossier that can support restart decisions.
Key Activities
- Defined an evidence-backed dossier workflow for email reconstruction, with explicit separation between confirmed facts and inferred reconstruction.
- Framed the recovery site as an operating policy rather than a static landing page: document validation steps, recover treatment construction logic, and decide whether to reuse, rerun, or rebuild.
- Synthesized the project restart and onboarding handoff around the late-April to early-June 2026 recovery phase, including Charlotte Henderson’s onboarding and the first concrete follow-up on investment projects after 2021.
- Recast the work from generic file recovery into a research archive recovery + onboarding problem, with the main bottleneck centered on treatment construction.
- Identified the jobs-vs-non-jobs investment classification as the central onboarding thread, linking prior 2023 empirical work to the 2026 restart.
Achievements
- Established a reusable dossier structure: timeline, artifact inventory, work-in-progress map, institutional-memory notes, and next-state plan.
- Clarified the current project state and the key unresolved question: how to validate and reconstruct the treatment layer before downstream matching or regression work.
- Produced a bounded recovery framing that can be reused for future archive synthesis and onboarding.
Pending Tasks
- Gather and cite the specific emails/artifacts needed to complete the timeline reconstruction.
- Validate the investment-project classification scheme and confirm the treatment construction logic.
- Resolve open follow-up items from the restart/onboarding handoff, especially any missing dataset inventory or project-history gaps.
